Pincher's first run of the year

by Pincher      2nd January 2010

Well today was just a spur of the moment thing, I thought a nice ride in the country would be good. So two nights ago I just threw this together and asked our wonderful Secretary to email all.

The meeting point was the Caltex servo at Baldivis at 0800. I arrived with my eldest daughter Emma at around 0745 and Philby was already there fueling up. It was not long till others started to arrive. Surly,Wolf and Phoenix then Stevo arrived then our two new noms Chris(DR) and Dangerous Dave and Turbo then the Omni present 1Mother and last but not least with that very, very, very shiny helmet Gonzo.

The usual banter and greetings carried out and it was time to get going. I gave a short brief on where we were going and the stops, then we all headed out for Nth Banister via Jarradale. The ride was fantastic, the sun shone on the chrome of the bikes the engines throbbed and the exhaust pipes growled and Pinchers stereo drowned out the lot with ABBA.

We arrived at Nth Banister without incident, had a beverage and a smoke then headed out again for Boddington only a short squirt down the Hwy and we arrived at the Pub. The Pub was open but we abstained from imbibing. After a short smoke break and some light hearted banter with Phoenix we headed out for Dwellingup.

Arriving in Dwellingup, I was off in my own little world ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪and missed the turn to the Pub luckily most of the rest of us knew I had stuffed up and turned. An enjoyable Lunch and a few cold beers later, it was time to mount our iron steeds and motor on to our last stop, the Serpentine Pub. Philby had a phone call from his sister in Sydney, Phils mother had passed away after a long illness.
Philby, we all, as Patriots were genuinely saddened to hear of your loss, please accept our condolences.

The road from Dwellingup was clear and an enjoyable ride was had by all.
The Serpentine Pub was a welcome sight as the temperature had climbed from a warm 34 degrees at Dwellingup to a very sweaty 39 degrees, thank god the Pub was air conditioned.

We all cooled down and had a drink then it was time to hit the road for home.

We said our good byes and went our separate was home.
I hope everyone enjoyed the day
