Gazza's Nom Ride
9th January 2011 Written by Gazza
Sunday the 9 January 2011 was a nice hot day of about 36 degree’s, nice day for a ride. We all met at Narrogin Inne in Armadale at 0900hrs so we could depart at 0930hrs. 17 bikes took to the road with 3 passengers, so not a bad turn out. Thanks to all for your support both from the South and North members.
We started by going down Albany Hwy for about 11kms then turned left into Canning Dam Road . It was a nice ride through the hills, not too fast, because of double demerit points, we went by both Canning and Mundaring Weirs. A lot of Bronco nuts on the roads but we all got through. At one stage we had to go around those guys on push bikes (think they own the road), and let's not talk about the idiot on the green bike who thought he was Wayne Gardner. Then it was time for a coffee at the Dome in Mundaring and a stretch for those who need a smoke.(time to admire each other bikes).
We are off again after about 30 mins down Stoneville Road, left into Toodyay Road, back down to Great Northern Hwy all the way to Chequers Hotel .Another stop for a drink and stretch, fuel for some. Back on your bike and we're off again down Chittering Valley Road heading toward Toodyay, nice piece of road, time to open it up a little, just to see if the bikes were working ok, we slowed down just in time not to get caught by the radar on the left - well done Gazza.
We arrived at Freemasons Hotel for lunch and a drink. At 1330hrs Gazza thanked every one and invited all to return to his place for a sausage sizzle and a cold drink. It was a rocket run down Toodyay Road, down Roe Hwy back to Gazza’s place for prawns, Beer, or a coke, plus a sausage. All in all it was a Great day and a good ride. Thanks to my mentors Mich in the North, Bronco in the South and of cause Jedi for bringing up the rear. I would also like to thank Marg for taking the photos.
