Ed's Nom Ride

An overnight stop at Lake Yearling sounded like a good idea but with no takers, Ed needed to come up with a new idea. Plan “B” was to ride to Ravenswood Hotel for lunch via Harvey, then on to Dwellingup for a stop, then back to Waroona via Nanga Brook then on home via our various ways.

Now, I will tell you what actually happened. While waiting for the start at The Shell Gateway service station, we got word that it was raining in Pinjarra. The clouds were moving in fast over us so we decided to head straight to Ravenswood via Pinjarra, using the Old Coast Road and taking in our favorite Old Bunbury Road. Being a Saturday, some of us had to work, so we were left with Barron, Ed, Stano, PJ and myself, JT with others from Northern areas to catch up at the Ravo. .

We stopped for fuel at Pinjarra and Stano said he was going to leave us because he had to get back to his pub. Remember I told you about Stano’s “R Bar” in Fish’s nom ride report. Now things are looking a bit fishy there (no pun intended and apologies to Fish), it seems that every time we go for a ride, Stano has to rush back early. I recon he just doesn’t trust his staff with those poorly dressed young maidens. Must go back there one day and check them out for myself but not a word to Nasa.

At the Ravo for lunch, we met up with Ankles, Mrs Ankles, Jimbo, Hoey, JJ, Mongrel, Barron’s brother with a friend and a couple of others that I failed to get their names (my apologies for that). Oh, I nearly forgot, Ed brought along with him, wrapped around his neck, what looked like a black cat fur (check out the photos). He spun some story that it was actually a scarf that a girl friend had knitted for him. Well, I was glad he was wearing jeans, because it sure would have gone well with a pair of black fish net stockings! (There was no way that I was checking what he had on under those jeans. It will just have to remain a mystery).

Being not sure how the weather was going to hold up, we decided to separate and head our various ways back home. PJ and our northern Bros had left, so the three of us, The Mayor of Burekup Barron von Ponytail, Ed and I traveled home via the South West Highway. Ed, or someone, must have done some praying because we missed the rain all day. It rained in Pinjarra when we were in Bunbury and rained in Bunbury when we were in Pinjarra. Whoever it was, thanks for that.

Although the plans never really came together, and a number of us couldn’t make it because of work commitments, we had a good ride. Thanks Ed.

It was good to catch up with some of our Bros from the north. We really should make an effort to get together more often. I know, let’s all go to the South West chapter meeting on the 5th of May at the “R Bar” and make Stano jealous!
Cheers guys,JT. SW Road Captain.
