Burty's Nom Ride

written by Burty   6th November 2010

We began the ride at the Amity Tavern in Albany at 6:30 sharp on a cool cloudy morning.  We headed out the highway,  some wearing their wet weather gear and others just hoping for the best.

On the way out of town we picked up Tank and then we were off.  Although a cool morning the weather was great and improving all the way.  A quick stop in Mt Barker (50km from Albany) to fuel up and grab a nice warm coffee.

We then headed out Albany Highway and turned right to head into the small township of Cranbrook (about 40km from Mt Barker) not to many people out and about at that time of the morning but it started to warm up nicely.

We continued through Cranbrook and on our way to Katanning.  We passed through the even smaller township of Tambellup, past the nice old pub and then about 20kms down the road through the even SMALLER township of Broomehill and passed by another nice old pub.

The ride from Tambellup to Katanning is a great ride some long sweeping bends to go on with.  We arrived in Katanning at about 8:30 and stopped to have some breakfast at a small bakery (if you can call sausage rolls and pies and stuff breakfast).

We fuelled up and headed off to our final destination to begin the rest of our day.

Many thanks to the Albany Chapter for coming to support my ride.

The weather was magic and it was a very enjoyable day.
