Big's Nom Ride
written by Bigs 24th November 2010
The day started at Shell service station on Thomas Rd with a great turnout of around 30 bikes and the great weather to add to the morning,
The ride departed from Thomas Road at around 0930 taking the quiet roads heading south to Waroona via Dwellingup, Nanga-brook Road was a brilliant ride as always with 30 odd bikes destroying the peace and tranquillity of Sunday morning picnickers and campers at Lane-Poole reserve which is always a easy way to crack a laugh.
Our group arrived at Waroona at around 1100 for some lunch and a look around at the British classic car show held on the Waroona oval, The Show had some impressive and quality cars on display, It would be nice to have seen some more bikes on display but I suppose that’s what you will get at a car show.
We departed Waroona onto the South Western Hwy at 1230 past the Ravenswood hotel onto the Kwinana heading north. We continued the ride through to Rockingham and short de-tour through the suburbs onto Safety Bay Rd for a great ride along the coast to the Memorial at the causeway for HMAS Stirling.
We finished the day with a quick ride over the HMAS Stirling causeway and a small ride around the ships and subs along the wharf.
A big thanks to all the riders who joined me for my nom run, I hope you had as much fun as I did, Thanks to Len for helping me put this ride together so quickly. Also I would like to thank to Traps for going tail-end Charlie for me for the day.
Cheers,
Bigs
